This underground water and sewer project was really tough. Picture trying to get through super narrow streets all tangled up with wires above, making it super tricky to move around hydro poles. Despite all that, our team had to work super carefully with a huge 35-tonne excavator, making sure we didn't hit any wires or poles. It was like a super intense course that we had to figure out.

Watermain Replacement Project at CFB Gagetown
At LCL Excavation, we take pride in tackling complex projects that demand ingenuity and precision. One such project that highlights our expertise took place at the Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Gagetown in 2023. Our goal? To replace the existing watermain infrastructure while navigating around existing obstacles, including a concrete heating tunnel.
Location and Scope
Situated within the confines of CFB Gagetown, this project presented unique challenges due to its military camp setting. Our task was clear: replace the aging watermain to ensure continued functionality and reliability for the base's water supply.
Challenges Faced
One of the key challenges we encountered was the presence of an existing concrete heating tunnel along the watermain route. This tunnel posed a significant obstacle, as our new watermain needed to pass underneath it without causing any damage.
Innovative Solutions
To overcome this challenge, our team employed creative digging and excavation techniques. Using our expertise and state-of-the-art equipment, we carefully excavated underneath the concrete tunnel, ensuring its structural integrity remained intact throughout the process.
Demonstrating Expertise
This project showcased our team's ability to think outside the box and find innovative solutions to complex problems. By successfully navigating around the concrete heating tunnel while replacing the watermain, we demonstrated our commitment to quality craftsmanship and client satisfaction.
Visual Evidence
We have included pictures from the project, showcasing our meticulous work as we excavated beneath the concrete tunnel. These images serve as a testament to our expertise and the level of precision we bring to every job.
At LCL Excavation, we thrive on challenges and excel in delivering exceptional results, even in the most demanding environments. Our successful completion of the watermain replacement project at CFB Gagetown is just one example of our unwavering dedication to excellence.
